Tank Cleaner Specialist

Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is currently seeking a full time Tank Cleaner Specialist in Honolulu, HI.

Summary: Supervises a crew in gas free operations to wash, clean and remove impurities. Successfully lead a small crew on multiple jobs. Acts as liaison between company and customer. Performs bilge maintenance, pumping, cleaning and preparation for gas free certification of tanks, voids, cofferdams, inaccessible areas, bilges and other compartments located on U.S. Navy vessels. Assists with conducting pumping operations, closing checkpoints, cleaning and setup/breakdown of all equipment associated with Bilge Maintenance and Tank Cleaning operations. Provides various services to the customer in regards to cleanliness, gas free certification and pumping operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages the advance planning, develop material/equipment lists and labor estimates for projects.
  • Responsible for the administrative/operational leadership of projects within the program guidelines set by the customer.
  • Monitors projects to ensure work scope, schedule, and budget are well defined and maintained.
  • Produces Condition Found Reports (CFR), Inspection Deficiency Reports (IDR), Request for Contract Change (RCC) reports, Certificate of Completion (CoC) and Change Order Price Proposals.
  • Attends and represents Epsilon at customer meetings concerning planning, production and schedule.  Reports status of projects and resolves waterfront issues to the satisfaction of the customers involved.
  • Conducts performance/project analyses during phase-down to benefit future/other projects/missions/programs.
  • Strictly adheres to corporate, federal, state and local safety/OSHA regulations.
  • Ensures that all Epsilon Systems MRG Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) are worn and that all damaged PPE is discarded.
  • Ensures that all requirements of the Epsilon Systems MRG Quality Assurance Manual are followed.
  • Ensures control and assumes responsibility for Level-1 material controls in accordance with Epsilon Systems MRG Instructions.
  • Follows detailed repair procedures and instructions (e.g.; QA Workbooks, Work packages steps, RECs, CWPs, FWPs, TGIs etc.) required to complete the production operations.
  • Notifies Specialist or Foreman of any unsatisfactory condition(s) identified during the production operation (i.e.; repair, modification, etc.).
  • Maintains good housekeeping practices; turns off machines when not in use, disposes of waste properly, sweeps the area, etc.
  • Performs bilge maintenance cleaning/pumping operations, general pumping operations, tank/void cleaning, general housekeeping, gas free certification preparation and pumping to include but is not limited to bilges, tanks, voids, berms, pier services, various compartments, trunks, offices, spaces, heads, urinals and other containers that may contain fluids that are undesirable to the customer or for retention for the customerís intent to re-use. Fluids to pump include but are not limited to fresh water, potable water, contaminated seawater, compensating seawater, seawater, chill water, oily waste, oil, fuel (JP-5, DFM or equivalent), greywater, blackwater, and neutralized chlorine water.
  • Performs equipment troubleshooting to diagnose problems and report to the Specialist or Foreman.
  • Follows and executes work packages, specification items or system alterations (e.g.; TEMPALTs, SHIPALTs, ORDALTs, etc.) IAW the directives (i.e.; instructions, drawings, Technical Manuals, MILSPECs, etc.).

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Minimum 4 yearsí of on-site shipboard new construction, repair, and/or moderation experience.
  • Minimum of 2 yearís experience managing/leading personnel.
  • Possess a current and valid Driverís License.
  • Ability to follow basic functions to include hose setups, air connections, tank/void cleaning and bilge cleaning/pumping and tank/void watch to include frack tank/tanker truck watch.
  • Must be tank/void watch and firewatch qualified.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain military base access.

ADA Notations:

  • Involves reaching with arms, stretching, crawling, climbing, heavy lifting, frequent stooping or bending and possible working assignments in overhead structures, confined spaces or beneath machinery.
  • Must be able to traverse multiple classes of U.S. Navy warships to include ladderwells, tight compartments, tanks, voids, bilges and heights exceeding 4í.
  • Shipboard environment.
