Assessment Director Support II

Location: San Diego, CA

Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc., is seeking a contingent full time Assessment Director Support II in San Diego, CA.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists in devising, implementing, and maintaining standardized engineering approaches for pre- and post-overhaul equipment and system testing plans, procedures, and assessment programs.
  • Assists managing and coordinating assessment programs.
  • Reviews repair and modernization advance planning procedures.
  • Develops statistical documentation and perform engineering studies for maintenance, engineering issues and assessment programs for a combination of equipment, systems, ships and ship classes.
  • Provides engineering solutions to specific shipboard equipment problems when required.
  • Develops and/or utilize automated data systems to manage Fleet assessment support.
  • Coordinates assessments and expert diagnostics to shipboard equipment and system malfunctions on active ships pier side and underway for the purpose of finding root cause and best course of action to restore to full operational condition.
  • Assesses operating shipboard systems to identify material deficiencies.
  • Submits root cause analysis and recommended action reports.
  • Chairs/attends assessment conferences and briefings, Fleet.
  • Acts as an advisor to commands and Naval ships on matters pertaining to ship availability advance planning, assessments, and program management techniques including operation, test, repair, and maintenance engineering.


Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 6 years’ experience with shipboard systems, maintenance, and inspections
  • Must be proficient in MS Office
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with U.S. Navy 3M system
  • Experience using ICMPs
  • Previous Senior Enlisted or Commissioned Officer experience

ADA Notations:

  • Ability to lift, carry and move objects up to 25 lbs. in weight
  • Ability to work in office, warehouse, laboratory, pier side, and shipboard locations
  • Noise conditions range from very quiet to loud, hearing protection may be required at times
  • May ride ships at sea for extended periods
  • Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States
