Senior Cyber Security Engineer I (Dayton, OH)

Location: Dayton, OH

Epsilon C5I (www.epsilonsystems.com/c5i), focused on software development and systems engineering for intelligence and combat systems, is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer with at least 6 years of experience to work out of Dayton, OH.  This position will support the research, development, and sustainment of old and new hardware systems and software capabilities for intelligence production.  If you have a passion for excellence in engineering and enjoy working on challenging projects in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Ė read on!

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, conduct, and accomplish assessments of systems and networks within the networking environment. 
  • Identify systems/networks deviations from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy.
  • Conduct passive evaluations (compliance audits) and active evaluations (vulnerability assessments).
  • Establish strict program control processes to ensure mitigation of risks and support obtaining certification and accreditation of systems.
  • Provide process support, analysis support, coordination support, security certification test support, security documentation support, investigations, software research, hardware introduction and release, emerging technology research inspections and periodic audits.
  • Assist in the implementation of the required Government policy (i.e., NISPOM, DCID 6/3), and make recommendations on process tailoring.
  • Perform extensive analyses to validate established security requirements and to recommend additional security requirements and safeguards.
  • Support the formal Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) required by each Government accrediting authority through pre-test preparations, participation in the tests, analysis of the results, and preparation of required reports.
  • Periodically conduct of a review of each system's audits and monitors corrective actions until all actions are closed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelorís Degree cyber security, computer science, engineering, or information technology (Masterís degree preferred).
  • At least six (6+) years of experience working a cyber security role in the DoD space.
  • Must have an active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Proven experience in cyber security planning, assessment, and analysis
  • Proven experience performing and reviewing technical security assessments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective team player with highly proficient customer service skills.
  • Flexible and able to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
  • Pursuant to the various government contractual requirements, all applicants must be U.S. Citizens.
