Epsilon Systems Mission Readiness Group is currently seeking a full-time AC&R Service Technician II in National City, CA.

Position Summary:

Installs, services, and repairs Air Conditioning and Refrigeration systems on board Navy and Commercial vessels, and other commercial establishments

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Observes and tests system operation, using gauges and instruments.
• Tests lines, components, and connections for leaks.
• Dismantles malfunctioning systems and test components, using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic testing equipment.
• Adjusts or replaces worn or defective mechanisms and parts, and reassemble repaired systems.
• Reads blueprints to determine location, size, capacity, and type of components needed to build refrigeration system.
• Instructs helpers.
• Installs wiring to connect components to an electric power source.
• Performs basic mechanical overhauls and refrigerant recovery / recycling.
• Cuts, bends, threads, and connects pipe to functional components and water, power, or refrigeration system.
• Adjusts valves according to specifications and charge system with proper type of refrigerant by pumping the specified gas or fluid into the system.
• Mounts compressor, condenser, and other components in specified locations on frames, fabricates and assembles structural and functional components of refrigeration systems, using hand tools, power tools.
• Lifts and aligns components into position, using hoist or block and tackle.
• Drills holes and installs mounting brackets and hangers into floor and walls of building.

Required Qualifications:

• Two - five years work related experience. Two – five years of training involving both on-the-job experience and informal training with experienced workers.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must be available for international travel up to 6 months throughout the calendar year.
• EPA universal certification.
• Able to obtain and maintain access to military and government installations and private shipyards.
• Ability to communicate effectively, work independently or in a group.
• Ability to do basic math, i.e. add, subtract, divide and multiply.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.

ADA Notations:

• Require walking, reaching, sitting and concentration in the presence of occasional noise.
• Able to move in narrow and restricted passageways, up/down steep and narrow ladders or stairways, and up and down antenna masts/yardarms (onboard ships).
• Able to lift, carry and move objects up to 50 lbs in weight.
• Must have manual and finger dexterity; able to grasp, manipulate, assemble small objects.
• Able to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
• Ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer
