Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is seeking a full-time Calibration Technician II in San Diego, CA.

Summary: This position provides Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) management and calibration support at our customers location at North Island Naval Air Station.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Uses the Metrology Bench Top (METBENCH) Calibration Management System (MCMS) for the scheduling and tracking of TMDE calibration and inventory.
• Provides support for calibration of aged, legacy aviation test equipment, to include a large number of discontinued items still in use by the aviation community that are over 30 years old.
• Performs calibration and repair within laboratory capabilities, to include the following equipment: AC/DC voltage, and current measurement and generation equipment; resistance measurement and generation equipment; microwave devices and measurements including VSWR, RF power, and attenuation; capacitance measurement and generation equipment; frequency and phase measurement and generation equipment; accelerometers utilizing the DI-811 calibrator; physical and mechanical measurement devices including force, torque, incompressible flow, length, mass, temperature, and pressure; General Purpose Electronic Test Equipment (GPETE) including: oscilloscopes, time domain reflectometers, signal generators, multi-meters, counters, function generators, power supplies, communication analyzers, and spectrum analyzers; and Navy Aviation Special Purpose Test Sets including air data, IFF, navigation, swept frequency, night vision, synchro/servo, hydraulic, fuel quantity, and weapons stray voltage.
• Performs calibrations utilizing the METBENCH automated calibration system, as well as manual calibration actions not within the capabilities of the METBENCH system. In cases where both automated and manual procedures exist, support personnel shall obtain guidance from the Laboratory Production Control Manager as to which method to use. Record all calibration and repair actions, manual and automated, utilizing MCMS.
• Provides subject matter expertise and guidance to active duty military calibration technicians in all areas, functions, and tasks.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 4 years’ experience performing TMDE calibration operations
• Familiar with lean process improvement practices and be proactive in identifying and improving work flow throughout the calibration processes
• Sound interpersonal skills needed to interface, coordinate with company personnel, customers, and outside contacts
• Complete training required for NEC 1589 (Fleet Electronics Calibration (FECL) Technician) or NEC 6673 (Field Calibration Activity Technician (Electrical/Electronic)) by completing our customers Calibration Job
• Qualification Requirement (JQR) within six (6) months of providing direct support
• Ability to read schematics and blue prints
• Ability to read technical manuals and repair standards
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow detailed written instructions or drawings
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Security Clearance

• Ability to move in narrow and restricted passageways, up/down steep and narrow ladders or stairways, and up and down antenna masts/yardarms (onboard ships)
• Ability to lift, carry and move objects up to 50 lbs in weight

• Noise conditions range from very quiet to loud
