Surface Vessel Torpedo Tube Technician (Engineering Technician III)

Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is seeking a full time Surface Vessel Torpedo Tube Technician (Engineering Technician III) in San Diego, CA.

Summary: Supports the Combat Systems Product Family in successfully accomplishing its mission to overhaul Surface Vessel Torpedo Tubes (SVTT) and SQQ-32 Sonar Hull Locks in accordance with Formal Work Packages and applicable technical documentation while adhering to technical authority requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reads schematics, long lines, and troubleshoots wiring and other electrical/electronic components.
  • Assembles, tests, and troubleshoots pneumatic lines and valves.
  • Assembles, tests, and troubleshoots hydraulic lines and valves.
  • Disassembles, repairs, refurbishes, reassembles, and tests all MKs and MODs of SVTT mounts in accordance with technical references and additional drawings required to complete the work task.
  • Removes and reinstalls SVTT mounts before and after refurbishment aboard U.S. Navy ships.
  • Inspects, disassembles, repairs, refurbishes, reassembles, and tests SQQ-32 Hull/Stow Locks in accordance with technical references.
  • Removes and reinstalls Hull/Stow Locks before and after refurbishment aboard U.S. Navy ships.
  • Obtains and maintain Torpedo Breech Mechanism Certification.
  • Troubleshoots, disassembles, repairs, overhauls and tests Torpedo Breech Mechanisms in accordance with FWPs, equipment technical manuals, and other approved technical references.
  • Completes all applicable approved Ordnance Alterations (ORD-ALTS) in accordance with technical requirements.
  • Follows technical manual and work procedures packages to maintain, repair or overhaul various equipment.
  • Provides input and assist with process improvement procedures

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience with the operation and maintenance of US Navy Breech Mechanism and SVTT
  • Navy maintenance experience with SQQ-32 Sonar Hull systems
  • Possess a Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) Certification for Torpedo Tube Breech Mechanism, test.
  • Maintain certification through the ISEA in the Repair, trouble shooting, overhaul and testing of Breech Mechanisms
  • Familiar with NULKA Systems
  • Familiar with SRBOC Systems
  • EW/CT Naval background preferred

  • Requires walking, standing, climbing stairs, visual skills and manual dexterity
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Noisy conditions Industrial work environment
  • Ability to wear a face mask while working
