Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is seeking a contingent full time Vibration Analysis Technician- Engineering Technician V in San Diego, CA.

Summary: This position will provide support for recurring vibration assessments and analysis on shipboard equipment and structure for all classes of ships.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Complete vibration analysis and assessments on shipboard equipment and structure for all classes of ships by using complex custom and off the-shelf computer systems in both the office environment and onboard ship including underway periods.
• Plan, coordinate, and perform Vibration Condition Assessment (VCA) visits on US Navy ships and craft.
• Utilize and maintain DLI vibration data recorders to acquire the vibration data.
• Provide subject matter expert advice and technical recommendations on the vibration response of shipboard systems and equipment.
• Analyze vibration data, which includes evaluating frequency domain spectrums and correlating the data to equipment characteristics. Provide operational / repair recommendations based on vibration signatures.
• Provide TAVRs with operational/repair recommendations based on vibration analysis completed.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 4 (four) years’ experience with vibration assessments and analysis.
• Vibration Institute Training Level 1 Certification
• Pursuant to the various government contractual requirements, all applicants must be U.S. Citizens.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

•  Vibration Institute Training Level 2 Certification

ADA Notations:

• Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes up to 50 lbs
• Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces
• Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels
• Will ride ships at sea for extended periods
• Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States
• Noise conditions range from very quiet to loud, hearing protection may be required at times.
