Summary:  The TYCOM maintenance operations analyst will serve on staff as a technical and subject matter specialist applying professional engineering knowledge and concepts in support of initiatives associated with surface maintenance, and repair of U.S. Navy surface ships.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Serve on staff as a technical and subject matter specialist applying professional engineering knowledge and concepts in support of initiatives associated with surface maintenance, and repair of U.S. Navy surface ships to include tracking to resolution of the identified issues.
• Work as a member of a cross-organization team focused on optimizing pre-deployer material readiness.
• Provide expert advice on ship maintenance and repair.
• Conduct flag level briefings on ship status where required and independently coordinate and communicate with ship senior leadership, to include Commanding Officers (CO).
• Maintain an effective Common Operational Picture (COP), sustainable/repeatable processes that leverage the capabilities of key stakeholders from the Maintenance and Supply Communities, and the allocation of sufficient resources to sustain S-MOC.
• Submit quarterly report of technical and material aspects of shipboard systems and equipment repair.
• Submit reports on recommendations pertaining to maintenance improvements, repairs, and beneficial suggestions.
• Provide report on the technical aspects concerning operation and maintenance procedures used on assigned systems quarterly.
• Submit updated report as requested on advice delivered to Type Desk Officers and subordinate Commanders on the maintenance aspects of matters under their cognizance as required / requested.
• Report and track casualty and repair trends of assigned systems for introduction of short and long-range technical solutions routinely.
• Submit reports and lessons-learned quarterly relating to maintenance actions requiring technical solutions with other staff codes (N41, N6) that interface with assigned equipment.
• Maintain unclassified S-MOC database by manually inputting the latest MFOM and Supply status.
• Pursuant to the various government contractual requirements, all applicants must be U.S. Citizens.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 10+ years’ experience in naval shipboard work as military, civil service, or contractor supporting USN surface ship operation and/or maintenance.
• Specific experience with operation and maintenance of shipboard systems and equipment
• Experience in conducting and/or reviewing compliance audits, certifications, and assessments.
• Bachelor’s Degree, but may be substituted for years of experience.
• High degree of technical skills using Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
• Detailed knowledge and expertise of Naval administrative and correspondence policies, instructions and regulations required.
• Experience in developing, tracking, and monitoring metrics and/or conducting deep dive analysis in Naval Engineering subject area.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Military, civil service, or contractor (E-7 or GS-12 or higher preferred) supporting USN surface ship operation and/or maintenance. 
• Familiarity with U.S. Navy organizations, functional missions, environment and programs.

ADA Notations:

• Must be able to work in an office environment. May sit for long periods of time.
• Must also be able to work in a shipyard environment and on naval vessels on occasion. Must be able to get up and down ladders and in tight spaces where required.
• May require PPE in certain environments (hard hat, steel toe boots, safety glasses, etc.)
