Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is seeking an Unscheduled part-time Pipefitter in San Diego, CA.

Summary: Pipefitter conducts maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of plumbing and mechanical systems.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performs preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and installations for utility distribution systems.
  • Installs, modifies, and repairs new and existing utility, supply, and disposal systems and equipment such as sewage, water, oil and gas distribution systems, water closets, tubs, fire sprinkler systems, and showers.
  • Uses materials such as aluminum, copper, iron, nylon, lead, vinyl, PVC, and rubber while having knowledge of their resistance to heat and acids, their strength and resiliency, and how to connect tubing made of different materials by using special fittings such as nylon to connect plastic and metal tubing.
  • Operates all power and hand tools used in pipefitting such as pipe bending, threading and cutting machines, pneumatic hammers, electric hand drills, and electric saws.
  • Maintains, repairs, and rebuilds a variety of domestic, commercial, and industrial heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration units/systems.
  • Maintains, repairs, replaces, or installs plumbing supply and waste systems and components.
  • Makes visual inspections for maintenance and/or repair deficiencies of affected facilities and fixtures.
  • Performs preventative, corrective and predictive maintenance tasks associated with the upkeep and operation of various types of equipment including but not limited to: Dust Hogs, Curing Ovens, Media Blast Boosts, and Powder Coat Booths.
  • Troubleshoots by performing and/or assisting SWRMC personnel in operational testing, removals/installations, alignments, assembly/disassembly and equipment inspections.
  • Uses a variety of hand and power tools, gauging devices, and test equipment.
  • Reads blueprints, technical manuals, and repair standards.
  • Assists the Government to perform rigging and building crane operations.


Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with pipefitting
  • Possess and maintain a valid Class C issued driver’s license
  • Ability to obtain a DOD security clearance
  • Ability to wear a full-face respirator
  • Pursuant to the various government contractual requirements, all applicants must be U.S. citizens

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with pipefitting

ADA Notations:

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Walk, stand, climb stairs, have dexterity as well as have visual skills in order to assess work requirements and/or command moves as required to complete assigned tasks
  • Work in industrial environment
  • Conducts work in industrial areas that would require the use of personal protective equipment
